Indoor Air Quality and Mold

Although Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues have been a public concern for the past decade or so, mold has become a growing priority for the past several years. While mold is a new issue for many companies, John A. Jurgiel & Associates has been conducting indoor air quality surveys, including mold surveys, for over 20 years.

Because of the unique nature of indoor air quality and mold concerns, our surveys are conducted by Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs), or are conducted under the direction of one of our CIHs. John A. Jurgiel & Associates has conducted indoor air quality surveys and investigations for a variety of clients throughout many different environments and settings, including manufacturing, office, retail, construction, residential (single family homes to multi-storied apartment buildings), hospital, nursing home, school (Pre-schools to Universities), aircraft, railroad, and even automobile environments.

On a pro-active level, John A. Jurgiel & Associates conducts indoor air quality surveys for various clients on a routine periodic basis. Other surveys or investigations are conducted in response to employee or occupant symptoms, or are in response to discoveries of water or moisture intrusion events, suspected mold growth, or odors. John A. Jurgiel & Associates uses a variety of equipment and direct-reading instruments to assess general air quality, mold growth and airborne mold spores (non-viable and viable), dust and other particulates, bacteria, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, water vapor, relative humidity, moisture content, temperature, and specific chemicals of concern for the particular issue.

Our mold-related surveys have ranged from simple identification surveys, to complex hazard assessments with the identification of multiple water intrusions. John A. Jurgiel & Associates has prepared corresponding mold remediation plans and specifications, and conducted post remediation surveys to assess the conditions of an environment after the completion of mold remediation activities. John A. Jurgiel & Associates can provide on-site project management support and in-progress air monitoring to evaluate work site controls and air quality in nearby areas.
